~Horse Enthusiasts… Riders and Spectators Alike Encouraged to Attend~

Thornbury, ON – Cedar Run Horse Park ready for another year of competitions, the park is gearing up for its second year of sanctioned events this coming June.

The one-day Ontario Horse Trials Association Eventing competition is equivalent to a triathlon in the equestrian world, beginning with the initial Dressage phase that involves an exact sequence of movements, with judges looking for balance, rhythm and suppleness and most importantly, obedience of the horse and harmony with its rider. This is followed by the Cross Country phase of the competition, which will showcase Cedar Runs’ equally challenging and scenic cross country course. And finally the competition will wind down with the Stadium Jumping phase, with both the Niagara Escarpment and Georgian Bay serving as the backdrop.

“For most riders, this event represents an opportunity to compete on what promises to become one of Canada’s best eventing courses for the very first time.” observes Cedar Run president and spokesperson Peter Lush. “And whether you’re a rider or a spectator, it won’t take you long to discover that the setting is quite spectacular.”

Riding trails destined for the park have now been completed, with input and direction coming from several highly respected members of the Canadian equestrian community, including Hugh Morshead – who has been directly responsible for overseeing work on the park over the last three years. Morshead has literally written the book on building a cross country course… a book that is entitled: “Design and Build a Cross Country Course.
